Lotus in Hand is written mainly in verse, simple and accessible.
But why in verse?
Verse is more compact than prose and packs in more of the ideas, the teachings and practices of Buddhism.
Also, verse is more closely allied to intuition and insight than prose is - and intuition and insight are integral to the Buddhist method of inquiry into the nature of the Buddha mind.
Verse lends itself to an act of meditation and understanding of the ideas
of Buddhism more efficiently than prose can.
Lotus in Hand explores Buddhism in its many varieties.
