being so special
Yes, Lao Tzu, says a Leader in one group, we are indeed from
many groups. But I want to speak about my group. My group is special. You
shall see why. We are chosen. In my group, we show our followers how the others
are wrong. We show how everybody else is wrong; we show people how only we
are right. We show our followers how the truth has only been embodied in certain
texts and books, and how the works of other nations and ways of other people
are unclean, untrue and filled with lies. By pointing out this to people we
do the world a great service, for we point out the truth to all the misguided
peoples of the world.
Says Lao Tzu, Go you to them who desire your words.
And says Lao Tzu:
¤
All you do is repeat what others tell you.
You pride yourself as being special; you pride yourself as a thinking people;
you think you are original; you think you are creative; but all you do is
to repeat what others tell you.
Friends, look deep into your hearts. Look into your mind. See what has been
put into you. See what have been embedded in you.
Once you were thinking. You said things you believed in. You said things which
you had experienced yourself. But now all you do is repeat things you have
been told.
Stop this parroting. Never repeat anything you don’t understand. Then you will truly learn.
¤
As you stand before me, all I see before me is the past.
The past is in your faces.
Even as you speak and as you expound and as you try and persuade, all I hear
is the past. Someone discovered something centuries ago and you are stuck
there. The past is in your heads and in your throats and in your words.
For what is that you tell me?
All you tell me are ideas that are dead. You have clever and charming words
to justify these borrowed ideas - but they are dead. And you live to keep
the dead alive.
